Set up activation

Configure the user and account criteria that Accoil uses to measure activation.

Written by Kate Caldecott

Set up activation

Activation measures progress toward a user or account's first meaningful experience of value in your product. Configure it separately for users and accounts in each workspace.

Open activation settings

In the workspace you want to configure, go to Settings and choose Workspace settings. Select either:

  • Account Activation for account-level progress

  • User Activation for individual user progress

Define the criteria

Add the conditions that represent meaningful progress in your product. These can include product events, traits, or both.

User activation conditions

For example, an activation definition might include connecting data, creating a form, using an important feature, or reaching a frequency of activity. The right criteria depend on the early actions that demonstrate value in your product.

When the criteria are saved, Accoil calculates activation progress as the percentage of conditions met. If four conditions are configured and a user meets three, that user's activation rate is 75%.

Analyse activation

Use the Activation suggested dashboard to explore activation-related metrics. Use the account or user context to match the audience you want to understand.

The Activation dashboard

Activation configuration is separate from dashboard analysis: return to Account Activation or User Activation in Workspace settings when you want to change the criteria.
