Segment quick start guide for Accoil

Track user engagement by adding Accoil as a Segment Destination.

How to Set Up

Step 1: Get Your API Key

Log in to your Accoil workspace and navigate to Settings > Product > Overview. Copy your Ingestion API key from the right sidebar.

Step 2: Connect in Segment

  1. In Segment, go to Connections > Catalog and search for Accoil Analytics.

  2. Click Add Destination and choose the source you want to connect.

  3. Paste your Accoil API key into the configuration.

  4. Enable the destination.

Allow 8–24 hours for engagement metrics to begin appearing — Accoil needs at least one full day of event data to calculate scores.

What Gets Synced

  • Identify events — Create and update user profiles with traits like email, name, and role

  • Group events — Create and update account profiles with traits like plan, MRR, and status

  • Track events — Record product activity (event name and timestamp are used for engagement scoring)

  • Page and screen events — Sent to Accoil as track events


Good to Know

  • Use consistent identifiers. Keep userId and groupId values stable across all your event types.

  • Group calls are essential for B2B. Without them, Accoil can't calculate account-level engagement scores.

  • Only the event name matters for track calls. Event properties aren't stored — use identify and group calls for user and account attributes.
