Summary
Accoil lets you build Account and User segments so you can see both big-picture account behavior and detailed user patterns.
How this helps
Segmentation highlights which groups need attention, making it easier to target the right customers, refine messaging, and guide product decisions.
Create Segments for Accounts and Users:
Account-Based Segments:
View how many accounts match your filters
Track key activity and engagement across account types
Compare engagement scores to spot risks and opportunities
Drill down to individual accounts for detail
User-Based Segments:
Track individual behavior, activation signals, and adoption
Identify power users, at-risk users, or dormant accounts
Target the right people with precision
Creating Segments
In the left-hand nav, select your Workspace, then under Segments, click "+" to add a segment.
2. Select whether Account or User Segment. Name your segment.
3. Click Add Filter and choose your filter type.
You can filter by events, traits, active status, number of users, engagement scores — or combine them.
Select ALL or ANY as your match filter — only one can be applied per segment.
4. Save by clicking Add Segment.
5. New segments will appear on the left hand navigation bar
Example Account Segments:
"New but active" — Accounts created in the last 30 days with an engagement score over 60
"Enterprise, inactive" — Accounts with more than 50 users but no events in the last 14 days
"Self-serve high performers" — Accounts on a basic plan using core features daily
"Trial drop-offs" — Trial accounts that didn’t activate key events like onboarding or setup
Example User Segments:
New Users Onboarded — Users created in the last 14 days who have completed the onboarding process.
Power Users — Users with daily activity and high feature adoption (e.g., interacting with key features 5+ times per week).
At-Risk Users — Users who were highly active last month but have seen a 50% drop in activity over the past two weeks.
Feature Explorers — Users who have engaged with three or more new features in the last 30 days.
Dormant Users — Users who haven’t logged in or performed any key actions in the past 30 days.
Editing a segment
In the left-hand nav, go to Segments and select the one you want to edit. (e.g. Ready to upgrade)
At the top right of the segment page, click Show filters.
Scroll down to the filter list. At the bottom, click Edit segment.
Update the details: change the name, adjust filters (add, remove, or edit), and check matches in the Preview panel. Click Save to apply your changes.
Deleting a segment
1. In the left-hand nav, go to Segments and select the segment you want to remove (e.g. Ready to upgrade).
2. At the top right of the segment page, click Show filters.
3. Scroll down to the filter list. At the bottom, click Delete segment.
4. Confirm the deletion. The segment will be removed from your workspace.
Once deleted, the segment and its filters can’t be recovered, so be sure before confirming.
